Meet Matt
At 9 years old, my dad introduced me to the game of golf. It didn’t take long and I was hooked on the game for life. Growing up in northeast Iowa, the season was not long, so during the summer I was at the course from sun up to sun down taking lessons from PGA Professional Randy Olsory, who is still my coach today. After a lot of hard work, I became a very accomplished junior and high school player. In 1982, I made the decision to turn professional and played golf throughout the country on the mini tours. I played professionally for 10 years and was fairly successful winning many tournaments. After moving to Eugene, Oregon and playing mostly on the west coast, I had enough of the travel and the grind and I decided to teach golf. My family and I moved to Boca Raton, FL where I became a PGA class A golf instructor. I since have been teaching for 22 years and have given over 40,000 golf lessons from beginners to tour professionals and becoming one of Americas top 100 instructors in 2003.
I teach at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Deerfield Beach, Florida and my main focus is to listen to my student’s needs and concerns. Golfers and their swings are all different so I teach individuals differently and focus on their desires to improve. Along with my knowledge and expertise, together we can get the job done.
